Catch-42¬ The Star's End
Tony was supposed to be on a routine operation. Get in, get out, easy as pie, he'd told himself. Instead, he disappears without a trace, abducted by Val and her sentient robot for a mission that should not be possible: Travel back in time and stop the deadly supernova that destroyed Val's precious home world.
Her people are peaceful, yet sandwiched between two hostile worlds. A decade ago each planet was fighting for its own survival and a desperate trade was made to protect Val's people, one that went wrong in ways no one fully understood. At the centre of it all is the Densophere, the only object capable of protecting a planet from supernova. Only Val carries the memory of the moment everything was lost, and the reason she was banished. Or so she thought...
Now the past is colliding with the present. The sinister Rings tightens its grip on control. A mysterious second threat accelerates the sun towards its destruction once again. Now Val and Tony are forced into an impossible Catch-42: surrender, letting evil win and pillage their three world system, or resist and risk losing all they fought so hard to save. With time running out and old deals replaying with deadly new consequences, Tony becomes the one variable no one accounted for.
Will he find and stop all threats in time? Or will he break under the pressure of saving three planets and return to his comatose father?
Some choices echo forever, others burn everything away.
