Tony was supposed to be on a routine operation.
Instead, he vanishes mid-air, abducted by a grief-stricken alien into a fractured solar system ruled by uneasy alliances, ruthless mercenaries, and a single impossible dilemma.

The Vallerians are a peaceful people caught between two hostile worlds. A decade ago, a desperate trade was made to protect them, one that went wrong in ways no one fully understood. At the center of it all is The Purple Thing, an object of unknown origin and terrifying leverage, and Val, a woman carrying the memory of the moment everything was lost, and the reason she was banished.

As a ruthless group who call themselves the Rings tightens its grip and an unnatural force threatens to accelerate the sun toward destruction, Val and Tony are forced into an impossible Catch-42: surrender, letting evil win and pillage their three world system, or resist and risk losing all they fought so hard to save. When time fractures and old deals replay with deadly new consequences, Tony becomes the one variable no one accounted for.

With planets on the brink, loyalties tested, and the sun balanced between gravity and fusion, the question is no longer trying to win, but daring to lose.
